William Lum received his undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and completed his graduate studies in real estate from University of San Diego. He started Pendulum Equity in 2008 with a major emphasis in the San Diego and San Francisco area.  Through Pendulum Equity, Mr. Lum has overseen the acquisition of multi-family rental units, condominium homes, retail centers and single family homes in the San Diego Metropolitan Area. Mr. Lum has personally overseen all construction and renovation projects carried out by the Columbia Hotel and its subsidiaries since 1996. William Lum also serves as executive vice president and board member of the Columbia Hotel, Inc., one of the companies that was started by his financier and builder grandfather QC Lum. In his role as executive vice president, Mr. Lum is  responsible for overseeing day to day operations, implementing operational strategies, managing various departments and ensuring efficiency, productivity and profitability. Mr. Lum is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and a Certified Residential Manager and has held positions at CBRE and Deutsche Bank. He has been an active member of several charitable organizations in Hawaii and California for more than 30 years. Mr. Lum has been a member of the Lum Sai Ho Tong, La Jolla Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club of Rancho Santa Fe and the Rotary Club of Del Mar. He has served as past Chairman of the Youth Services Committee and was a board member of the Children Priority One Campaign.
